Kevin Julka and Cris Rosario of Paddleboard Specialists give their first impressions of the 2016 Surftech BARK Vapor 14' and the 2016 SIC FX14' Pro. These two all-condition boards are definitely creating a class of their own with the ability to handle chop and wind while still maintaining flat-water speed.
The SIC FX Pro, with less nose rocker and more tail rocker, is closer to a true "all-condition" board, but definitely requires more from the rider to make the most of these benefits. The BARK, in comparison, has more nose rocker and a soft entry, making it much more forgiving in bigger conditions. Both boards perform well in the flat, though we found the SIC was a bit quicker due to its leaner entry.
