Paddleboard Specialists is hosting The StandUp Paddle Challenge series on our home waters of Madison, WI this summer. Sponsors include Wingra boats,
A Stones Throw,
Naish Surfing and
Werner Paddles. The Challenge series is part of a national series sponsored by Naish Surfing.
The Challenge Series is all about having fun. It is also a great chance to try
Stand Up Paddling. Paddleboard Specialists will have free demos and basic lessons each Challenge event date for several hours before the official challenge starts. No experience is required to enter! When everyone has completed the challenge event of the day, we will hold a formal race for Naish series points for those wishing to participate.
The formal race format is simple, each event awards points according to how you place in the race. For example, 1st place gets 10 points, second gets 8 points, all the way down to 9th place. At the end of the series the top three male and female competitors are invited to compete at the Naish national championships on September 26 (location to be determined, but Naish promises us you will love the venue!).
Want to throw your hat in the Naish series, but don’t have a board? No problem. Paddleboard Specialists will charter you a board, paddle and leash for only $15 per challenge date. 50% of the charter fee will be donated to the Henry Vilas zoo fund for buildling the new Polar Bear exhibit. (100% of your charter fees are applicable toward a paddleboard package purchase too!)
