The more we paddle the SIC X-12'6 scc
the more we like it. Its combination of speed, glide and maneuverability in flat water are at the top of its class. It feels like it has a bit less volume than their stated specification and is best for a paddler under 160 though acceptable for paddlers up to 180 pounds.
Two days after we finished the video I had the chance to take it out for an out and back upwind/downwind run when the wind was gusting close to 25 mph. Its narrow and lean bow was very effective piercing the chop running up to a touch over 2’ and it maintained momentum much better than many of the full displacement boards I have tested in these conditions. The delightful surprise was when we turned for the 2 mile run back with the wind where this board caught any little runner and just took off effortlessly and could link up glides with ease. We had it out side by side with a Starboard All Star 12’6” x 27.5” brushed carbon and it put the Starboard totally to shame downwind in these conditions.
We stock the full line of high performance SIC boards including the F16 and the Bullet 17’4”.
