Description of Event:
In 35-40 minutes you'll learn the basics of paddleboarding and get some practice too!

We are super stoked to announce that our summer lesson series will not only help spread Standup Paddleboarding to the Midwest, but it will help a great cause too.

The Paddleboard Specialists SUP series has been named "Paddle for the Polar Bears". The series will raise funds for Madison, Wisconsin's Henry Vilas Zoo. 50% of all proceeds will be donated to help complete the Arctic Passage, a home for polar bears and seals. The Zoo is a free and highly educational resource for Madison visitors and residents of all ages.

A fantastic group of partners including Wingra Boats, A Stone's Throw, Naish Surfing and Werner Paddles are helping to make the challenge series a reality.
Requirements:
The best part for participants? Owning gear is optional. A $15 equipment charter includes a lessonand practice time. Paddleboard Specialists will be on hand each event date. The lessons run from 10:30am-2:30pm.

When each challenge is completed, Paddleboard Specialists will also be holding official Regional Naish Surfing races with the top finishers across the six-event series qualifying to compete at the national Naish Surfing final event in Lake Tahoe on September 26, 2010.
